| This is the setup program containing a demonstration version of EZITREE. Not all features are
available with this version of EZITREE and you may only enter up to 100
persons, however if you start using it and
decide to purchase the program, any data that you have entered will be
available to the full program when you install it.
To try the demonstration version, download the 'setup.exe' file into a temporary directory, then double click it to run the installation program. If you would like to try a full version of EZITREE, please send an e-mail with your postal mailing address and I will send you a time limited (three months) full version of the program on CD-ROM. Please send an e-mail if you have any questions using the demonstration version of Ezitree. |

| This is the setup program containing a version of
EZITREE which may be freely distributed to enable Ezitree data files to be
read without owning a licensed copy of the software. This version may only
be used for all Ezitree program data from v9 or later. All features of the
program are
available with this version of EZITREE excepting those relating to the
adding, changing or deleting of information and it also excludes the importing of GEDCOM files.
Existing users may find this software version useful for distributing
copies of their data to other family members. To use this version, the first thing to do is to download the Data Sharing setup file (etw_share_setup.exe) into a temporary folder onto the computer. Next, double click the setup file to run the installation program. As part of the program installation, a new empty data file named 'DEMO' will be created in the program folder called "C:\etwshare\". Next, with the program running go to the Utilities menu item and click the 'Backup and Restore' option. This will open the 'Backup and Restore' window from where the data may be restored. The 'Restore' radio button is then clicked and the location of the previously created Ezitree backup file must be entered using the 'Select' button on the right hand side of the Source field. The backup file may be on a CD-ROM, flash drive or the hard disk drive of the same computer. Finally, the 'Restore' button at the bottom of the window is clicked to restore the Ezitree data into the Data Sharing version of the program. Please remember that a backup copy of the Ezitree data must first have been created by the person providing the data. This is done from inside of the licensed Ezitree software and will create a backup file named 'etpbkup.zip'. Images are NOT normally included in the backup file unless this option is selected as part of a CD-ROM backup only. Otherwise they must be provided as a separate file if they are required in the Data Sharing version of Ezitree. You also need to be aware that if you intend to use the images in this version, they MUST be placed in exactly the same location on the Data Sharing computer that they were on the licensed software computer. Refer to Section 1 of the scanning document below for a suggested strategy for storing images in a logical location on your computer.
